National Track & Field Hall of Fame
The National Track & FIeld Hall of Fame — an inspirational museum and interactive sports and fitness learning center — is located at The Armory.
The Hall does not just memorialize the past, but allows for discovery of what it takes be a great athlete — from how to train and what to eat to how technology has changed the sport. It even explores what the great Olympians think about during competition.
Among the experiences are the sights and sounds of the New York City Marathon, including a miniature floor replica of the 26.2-mile course, an interactive touch screen with Olympic champions and one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia from past Games.
The Hall Gallery, with its renown 40-foot-long etched glass Wall of Fame, immortalizes the inductees while providing views of the New Balance Track & Field Center, where future Famers both train and compete.
Since opening in January of 2004, thousands of school children have explored the more than 15,000-square feet of sport history. They learn about the importance of exercise, proper diet and nutrition, teamwork and dedication.
