Those Millrose Miles

Below are the 2012 qualifying policies for entry into the Millrose Games at The Armory for high school milers.

  • Twelve boys and twelve girls will be selected.
  • All auto-qualifying must be done in races at The Armory during the 2011-2012 season.
  • All qualifying must be done at the full one-mile distance.
  • For automatic bids, only the winner or the top two places will receive invitations. Subsequent non-qualifying places will NOT slide up into auto qualifying spots if the qualifying runners: 1) decline the invitation or 2) have already qualified.
  • Once all of the automatic bids have been earned, the event chairman will fill the fields based on the 2011-12 Indoor Armory high school mile rankings. Eleven of 12 invitations will be based solely on times run at The Armory this season. Meet management reserves the right to invite one 'at large' bid as deemed appropriate.

  • Full fields will be posted on Wednesday, January 25th on ArmoryTrack.com.
  • The girls' chairman is Jim Spier (email).
  • The boys' chairman is Tim Fulton (email).
  • The Larry Byrne High School Boys Mile and the High School Girls Mile will be contested at Millrose on Feb. 11, 2012. Click here for ticket information.
