All Eyes Turn To Daegu

by Brett Hoover — posted on 8/21/2011

The IAAF World Championships get underway in Daegu, South Korea, next Friday night (Saturday morning locally in South Korea) and ArmoryTrack has prepared a schedule that with help you follow along from the perspective of New York and The Armory.

The following is a list of the athletes who have competed here frequently as a high schooler or collegian, was born in the City or won significant titles at The Armory.

Elliott Denman — a long-time journalist for the Asbury Park Press and a 1956 Olympian — will be 'on-the-ground' for ArmoryTrack.com in South Korea, providing coverage, which will also be supplemented at the ArmoryTrack home office. With a 13-hour time difference, most of the big events will happen early in the morning here in the States, so expect a daily recap well before noon each day.

The events that we will be watching closely begin on Friday night as Columbia graduate Lisa Stublic runs in the women's marathon for Croatia. Things come to an end early in the morning on Sunday, September 4, as the men's and women's 4x100-meter relay events wrap up.

All times are U.S. Eastern. Athletes are representing the United States, unless noted. (*) Asterisk indicates participation must be earned through advancement from qualifying rounds.
