Is This Your Year?

New York Road Runners is offering its first-ever fully customized ING New York City Marathon training program to help runners of all levels achieve their 26.2-mile goals. The plan — tailored specifically to each runner's training and racing — draws upon the resources of NYRR and its unparalleled knowledge of the course.

There is also an active official ING NYC Marathon Facebook page, where more than 30,000 people participate, asking and answering questions and giving advice. In fact, at 6 pm Eastern today (Wed., Aug. 10), there will be a live chat with some of NYRR's coaches.

The ING New York City Marathon will run on November 6 (just 87 days away!) and if you are running, you will be running with quite a freshmen class as NYRR President and CEO Mary Wittenberg has announced that first-time marathoners Bobby Curtis, Ed Moran, Lauren Fleshman, and Molly Pritz will all be running the streets of New York that afternoon.

"This year's 'Freshman Class' are some of the best in their respective distances, and we are very excited to see what they can do in the marathon," said Wittenberg. "New York has become an inviting and exciting place for our Americans to debut from Alberto (Salazar), Deena (Kastor) and Meb (Keflezighi) to Kara (Goucher) and Shalane (Flanagan), and we are ready to see what Bobby, Ed, Molly, and Lauren have in store for 2011."
