Next Summer's Schedule

The 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials will be heading to Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., next June and we now know the initial structure of the schedule.

But the actual opening event of the Trials won't be in Eugene as the men's and women's hammer throw will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, on the Nike campus in Beaverton. With details yet to be completely 'hammered' out, it looks like temporary seating for about 5,000 fans will be constructed on the Nike soccer field and the event is expected to be free.

From there all the action heads South to Eugene. The expanded Hayward Field, reports the USATF, is well on its way to selling out and fans are encouraged to purchase ticket packages soon.
