Cross Country, Cross City
The first of four 2011 PSAL Grand Prix Series of cross country will meet this week with the boys running on Tuesday and the girls, except for those on Staten Island, getting at it on Wednesday. The S.I. boys and girls will each compete on Tuesday.
The races will begin at 4:15 pm on Tuesday, with the borough schools competing at following locations:
| Staten Island | Clove Lakes Park |
| Brooklyn | Prospect Park |
| Queens | Cunningham Park |
| Manhattan | Van Cortlandt Park |
| Bronx | Van Cortlandt Park |
This Grand Prix schedule will be in place for four straight weeks and the freshmen will run 1.5-mile courses while the varsity programs will trek 5,000 meters (as the courses permit).
While Port Richmond holds the top spot in the girls' city rankings after breaking through in 2010, the boys' top team in the preseason is Stuyvesant, whose Konrad Surkont won the PSAL title a year ago in leading the Stuy to its fourth title in seven years.
