Armory’s Track Readies for Touch Up

The Armory will be closed for practice on Tuesday, January 31, as the track will be painted. The painting was originally scheduled for Thursday, February 2, but with the switch Thursday practice will now be held as scheduled.

The Armory’s track is painted twice a year — once in October or November and once again just before the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The track’s many layers of paint were actually hand-scraped off last summer which should help the process go even smoother than it has in the past.

This year’s mid-season paint job will ensure that the track is in tip-top shape for the championship portion of the season — which this year includes the Millrose Games, the PSAL Championships, the Big East Championships, Section 1 State Qualifiers, the Eastern States Championships and the New Balance Indoor Nationals.
