Coca-Cola Supports Armory Activity
As summer winds down, the Coca-Cola Foundation is heating up its support of active living and nutrition programs in New York City. On Thursday — as part of its second-quarter grants — the Coca-Cola Foundation will present a check to The Armory Foundation to support coaching on the track for its Armory College Prep programming. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) will also host a FIT clinic, led by WNBA legend and former New York Liberty player, Sue Wicks, as part of the event for local Washington Heights youth from the Police Athletic League (PAL).
The check presentation will kickoff the day's activities at 11:30 am with Dr. Norbert Sander, Executive Director of The Armory Foundation, and Tom Sagliano, the Bronx Distribution Center Manager for Coca-Cola Refreshments, leading the way. Following that, from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm, Wicks will conduct the FIT Clinic.
The Coca-Cola Foundation awarded more than $70 million to 263 community organization around the world in 2011 to support sustainable community initiatives, including community recycling, water stewardship, active, healthy living, and education.
