Fueling For Success

posted on 1/16/2012

Are your athletes fueling themselves for success?

Your team trains hard, but in today’s competitive environment that may not be enough. Failure to adequately fuel and hydrate can cause your athlete to perform sub-optimally.

Give your athletes the competitive edge!

Sports nutrition is a science which applies nutrition principles to enhancing sports performance. We can help your athletes develop strategies to:

  • Promote adaptations to training
  • Recover effectively after each training session
  • Avoid injury and illness
  • Perform optimally during competition
  • Our sports nutrition graduate students are available to provide workshops and one-on-one counseling for your team. All workshops will be tailored to your specific concerns and needs. Your athletes will learn:

  • What and how much to eat before and after workouts
  • How to fuel themselves for competition
  • What and how much to drink for optimal hydration
  • How to manage body weight
  • The Armory will offer seminars on sports nutrition directed by noted specialist Dr. Karen Dolins of Columbia University during the following track & field meets:

  • Feb. 4 — New Balance Collegiate Invitational
  • Feb. 25 — PSAL City Championships
  • Feb. 28 — Eastern States Championships
  • March 3 — ECAC Division III Championships
  • The sessions will begin at 10:30am, 11:30am, and 12:30pm in The Armory theater. Seminars last 45 minutes with opportunity for personal counseling. There is no fee.
