Let's Do It Again

Columbia's final NCAA qualifying meet this coming weekend will have a dizzying array of talent in the men's 5,000-meter race on Friday night.

Scheduled to run at 8:55 pm, it will feature Lopez Lomong (who won the Wanamaker Mile at the recent Millrose Games), Evan Jager (an Olympic steeplechaser), Andrew Bumbalough, Matt Tegenkamp, Chris Derrick, Garrett Heath and Travis Mahoney with Dan Huling serving as a pacer.

Among the college teams entered are Boston College, Columbia, Georgetown, N.C. State, Princeton, Providence, Richmond, Syracuse, UConn, Villanova and West Virginia.

In addition to the runners from the Oregon Track Club, the meet will also feature elite athletes from Central Park Track Club and the NJ/NY Track Club.
