Millrose Trials Ready To Take Flight

High school qualifying for the 105th Millrose Games takes center stage this week as Wednesday's Millrose Trials at the Armory will yield the majority of the high school and youth participants for the February 11 showcase.

The top two milers in each the boys' and girls' races at the Trials will guarantee a position in the elite field along with four boys and four girls who have secured their spots.

The current qualifiers are Edward Cheserek (St. Benedict's, N.J.), Stephen Lewandowski (Mountain Lakes, N.J), Ned Willig (Great Valley, Pa.) and Everett Price (New Providence, N.J.) for the boys and Alexis Panisse (Benjamin Cardozo, N.Y.), Brianna Nerud (North Shore, N.Y.), Samantha Nadel (North Shore, N.Y.) and Mary Cain (Bronxville, N.Y.) for the girls. Additional spots will be earned at the Molloy Stanner Games (Jan. 14) and the New Balance Games (Jan. 21).

In addition to the New Balance High School Girls' Mile and the Larry Byrne Boys' High School Mile, other high school events at the Millrose Games will be the 4x400m, 4x800m and sprint medley relays, 55m dashes and the weight throw.

At the Millrose Trials, athletes from all five boroughs, suburban New York, Long Island and New Jersey will be looking for automatic berths.

Youngsters will be vying to earn spots as well as youth races are slated for both the 4x200m relay and the Fastest Kid on the Block 55m dash.

The Millrose Trials will be broadcast live from 4-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Full schedule below.
