Millrose Viewership Climbs
The Millrose Games' webcast — shown through partnership with YouTube Sports — has been played nearly 150,000 times as of Tuesday morning, making it one of the most viewed American track & field meets ever online.
"The presentation was wonderful," said Dr. Norbert Sander of the Armory Foundation. "Viewers have told us that it was a new and wonderful way to watch track & field. Nothing can replace the excitement of the live broadcast as demonstrated by the BYU team watching Miles Batty's collegiate record from a hotel room."
The live feed ran in HD for more than six hours on Saturday night and the most popular races in the archival footage have included the 5,000-meter run featuring the record-breaking performances of Bernard Lagat, Lawi Lalang and Edward Cheserek and the Wanamaker Mile victory of Matthew Centrowitz.
