So we weren't really surprised that our own New York was picked as the Best Running City in the U.S. by Active.com's Sabrina Grotewold.
After all, the New York Road Runners alone organize the world's largest marathon and more than 50 other events.
There are 10 parks of 500 or more acres within the City as well as 50 local running clubs, more than 20 tracks and, of course, the greatest and most active indoor track in the world.
Here are a few of the great places to run in the City:
