C.W. POST HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

C.W. POST CAMPUS OF LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY

VARSITY RACES:  There will be two 4 K (2.5 miles) varsity races (1 boy’s and 1 girl’s.)   A school may participate in only one varsity boy’s and one varsity girl’s race.  *** Additional races may be added.

 

J.V. RACES:  There will be two 4 K  (2.5 miles) junior varsity races (1 boys and 1 girls.)  A school must be represented by a full team (7 runners) in the varsity race to compete in the junior varsity race.  A school may enter multiple teams of seven runners each.   

 

FRESHMAN RACES:  There will be two freshman 3 K races (1 boys and 1 girls.)   Only 3 freshmen are needed to score. A school may enter multiple teams as long as each team has five runners.

 

AWARDS:         Awards will be given on the following basis and presented after each race.  The top fifteen individuals in each varsity race will receive t-shirts.  The top teams in each varsity race will receive plaques. The top three teams in all races will receive medals (7), Freshman teams will receive 5 medals.

DIRECTIONS TO C.W.Post: Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 39 and take Glen Cove Road north. Go north for 2 miles; turn right (east) on Northern Boulevard (Route 25A). C.W. Post is 2 miles on the right.  Follow road into the school and park next to the Athletic complex.

Course:  The Varsity course is a beautiful, spectator friendly, 4K (2.5 mile) course, with a challenging hill and is run entirely on trails and grass over the C.W. Post Campus. Look for fast times. 

 

ENTRY FEE:  All races are $35.00 for each varsity, junior varsity, or freshman team.  Make checks or purchase orders payable to:  C.W. Post Cross Country

 

ENTRY DEADLINE:  Entries, along with a typed roster, must be received by FRIDAY, SEPT. 9, 2005.    Entries may be faxed, (fax # is 516-299-3155) if necessary, along with appropriate claim form or purchase order.    Please note:  This is an entry fee, not a participation fee.  Your school will be held responsible for this fee whether you participate in the meet or not.

You must include a typed (or clearly written) team roster with your entry in order for your team to participate in the meet.
