Rules of the Meet

An athlete may compete in a maximum of three (3) events, if qualified.

All PSAL, State and National Federation rules will be in effect

ALL ENTRIES/SCRATCHES MUST BE DECLARED PRIOR TO 9:00 A.M.

ANY QUALIFIED ATHLETE WHO IS ENTERED IN AN EVENT, AND NOT SCRATCHED MUST COMPETE IN THAT EVENT. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM ALL EVENTS.

All athletes must wear their previously assigned numbers. Relay team number will be the number worn by the anchor leg.

Check-in cards and labels will be used. Labels must be completely filled in and worn by every competitor. (One on the anchor leg of each relay)

The area alongside the "back" straightaway is reserved for coaches ONLY. No other persons affiliated with teams, nor any other spectators are permitted to be in this area.

Coaches are responsible for the sportsmanlike behavior and conduct of all persons in any way affiliated with, in the company of, or in close proximity to their teams or individual team members.

All events close promptly five (5) minutes after the last call.

Lane preferences are 5-6-4-3-2-1 for all races on the track.

Lane preferences are 4-5-3-6-7-1-8 on the straightaway.

Scoring and awards will be to six (6) places. Scoring 10-8-6-4-2-1.

Medals will be awarded to the top relay teams in each event.

First and second place finishers in each individual event and the first place team in each relay will qualify to represent the PSAL in the NY State Federation Championship in the Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY on March 4, 2000. Third place finishers may qualify if they meet the State qualifying standard (see separate sheet).

The top non-qualifiers in the 300, 600, 1000 and 1600 will represent the PSAL in the Inter-sectional Relay (1000-200-600-1600) at the State Championship Meet.
