28, 2001 1. Don Bosco Prep - Easy wins at the Regis Invitational and against top ten teams Ridgewood and Bergen Catholic keep the Ironmen well ahead of the field. 2. NV/Demarest - Easy dual wins over Ramsey and Indian Hills keep the Norsemen second. 3. Garfield - The Boilermakers are now 9-0 in duals and beat Glen Rock, 24-32. Their next challenge will be the league meet on Oct. 8. 4. West Milford - The Highlanders were fourth behind state powers Hillsborough, Memorial and Eastern at the Passaic Invitational Group 4 meet. 5. Ridgewood - The Maroons lost 19-36, to Don Bosco Prep, but should run better at today's Maroon Invitational. 6. Rutherford - The young Bulldogs will be in a very competitive BCSL American league. 7. Bergen Catholic - The Crusaders lost to Don Bosco Prep in a dual after a good seventh place finish in the NJCTC Class meet. 8. NV/Old Tappan - How good is this team. They're 6-0 in duals but untested in majors. 9. St. Joseph Regional - The Green Knights beat Teaneck and are now 3-0 in duals. 10. Tenafly - A 24-33 win over Westwood in their first meet might be a good sign of things to come for the Tigers. 11. North Bergen - Javier Cuevas was fourth in the Passaic Invitational 4 meet and the Bruins were 8th in a loaded field. 12. Cliffside Park - A solid fifth place finish in the Passaic Invitational 3 meet led by a solid Rudy Urena put the Raiders into the rankings. 13. Eastern Christian - The Eagles continue to run well with a second place finish in the Group 1 Passaic Invitational. 14. Secaucus - The Patriots may have the best pack in the Group 1 North 1 Section after a good third place finish at the Passaic Invitational. 15. Wayne Hills - A 5-2 dual start and finishing seventh in the Passaic Invitational 3 meet, two points ahead of Northern Highlands. |
Girls - October 5 1. Ridgewood - Undefeated Maroons face first key test in Shore invitational B race. 2. Pascack Valley - The Indians remain unbeaten with their next race the NBIL championship next Friday. 3. Passaic - The Indians lost a dual to Bloomfield but finished third in the Maroon 3-4 meet after winning Passaic Coaches Group 4. 4. Ramsey - The Rams lost a tight one to Pascack Valley after winning the Maroon 1-2. 5. Hackensack - The Comets were a solid fourth in the Maroon 3-4 and easily beat Holy Angels. ) 6. NV/Old Tappan - The Golden Knights defeated NV/Demarest but slip because of no major races yet. 7. Ramapo - The Green Knights ran very well at the Passaic Coaches 3 meet but were beat soundly by Ramsey and Pascack Valley last Monday. 8. NV/Demarest - The Norsewomen lost to Old Tappan and will run their top two at Shore. 9. IHA - The Blue Eagles had an excellent 2nd place finish in the Passaic Invitational 4 and ran well at the Stewart Memorial. 10. Cresskill - The Cougars beat perennial Parochial B power Mater Dei, 50-64, at the Passaic Invitational Group 1 meet for a second straight major win. 11. Glen Rock - Look for Glen Rock to start to make their move by winning their BPSL Division title Monday. 12. Indian Hills - The Braves have lost four dual meets, to the Nos. 2,4,6 and 7 teams but are still among the area's best. 13. River Dell - River Dell knocked Dumont out of the Top 15 in a dual meet and are still unbeaten in the BCSL American. 14. West Milford - The Highlanders beat Passaic Valley, 25-31, in a showdown in the Northern Hills Skyline. 15. Passaic Valley - The Hornets are more than just magnificent Jesse Mizzone and could be a contender for the Passaic title. |
