For 29 years, the
Manhattan College Invitational has been the premier High School Cross Country event in the nation, held at the Mecca of Cross Country: Van
Cortlandt Park. The 2001 edition will be no exception, with many of
the Harrier's top 25 boys and girls teams expected to attend.
Last year's event had a record 9,900 athletes, over 350 teams, and 16 states and
D.C. represented. On the site of the Northeast Footlocker Regional qualifier,
the Manhattan College Meet holds 33 races for HS and MS runners, awarding 3415
quality prizes. Come to the Big Apple for the "Biggest and the
Best".
