Stores no longer wait for Thanksgiving to start the full-fledged holiday season, so we aren't waiting either.

Grab your calendar (or your nearest mobile device) and make a note that The Armory will be a hub of activity on the day after Christmas with the Armory Youth Holiday Classic followed by the Open/Masters Holiday Classic.

The youth events begin at noon (with registration starting at 10:30 am). The entry fee is $15 per athlete, which will entitle the entrant to compete in as many as three events. The youth events will include dashes (55, 200, 400), distances (800, 1500), hurdles (55), relays (4x200) and field (high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put).

The open and masters events (with the exception of the pole vault) will take place from 6 pm to 10 pm and registration is available only on the day of the event, beginning at 4:30 pm. The fee of $25 will allow competitors to test themselves in an unlimited number of events. Running events are from the 60-meter dash up to the 3k run. There is also a 4x400-meter relay, a pole vault, long and triple jumps and a weight throw and shot put.
