The high school season at The Armory’s New Balance Track & Field Center will come to a thrilling conclusion with New Balance Nationals Indoor, scheduled from Friday, March 11th, to Sunday, March 13th. America’s top athletes from far and wide will converge in the heart of New York City to definitively settle who is the best across 68 Championship events, 51 Rising Stars events, and 14 freshman events.
Top-flight athletes who have already confirmed their NBNI participation include:
- Colin Sahlman just became just the fourth high schooler in history to break four minutes in the mile indoors, and he leads a group of five athletes from Newbury Park, CA, fresh off the greatest cross country season ever
- Shawnti Jackson (Wakefield, NC) recently set the 60m high school record at the Millrose Games. She is also US #1 in the 55m and 300m.
- Roisin Willis (Stevens Point, WI) is US #1 in the 500m, 800m, and 1000m, and she will race the mile while also renewing her 800m rivalry with Sophia Gorriaran (Moses Brown, RI), US #1 in the 600m.
- Terrell Robinson Jr. (Mount Tabor, NC) is US #1 in the 55m.
- Gregory Foster (Lawrenceville, NJ) is US #1 in the long jump.
In addition to three days of pulse-pounding races on The Armory’s Fastest Track in the World, what else can athletes and fans expect? Here is a sampling of some of the exciting features that New Balance Nationals Indoor has to offer:

- New Balance and The Armory are collaborating to provide a full stadium experience like no other. The brand-new Armory Cube is the centerpiece of the arena experience, broadcasting live race footage and field event standings in ultra-high definition. The Cube can present multiple events at once with no loss of visual fidelity, and can also display data such as athlete IDs, team scores, and individual field event attempts. The seasoned in-house production team will make athletes feel special with lane-by-lane introductions, athlete photos, and dazzling audio/visual effects.

- The iconic NBNI Backpack has returned for 2022. Available to all participating athletes and made from 100 percent recycled polyester and nylon, the backpack is the ultimate badge of talent for the elite high school athlete. For all images of this year’s backpack design, click HERE.
- Athletes in key events will be introduced with pyrotechnic sparklers to create an unforgettable visual spectacle.
- More data is available to athletes and spectators than ever before. In addition to standard lap splits, the elite timing staff can track statistics such as miles per hour and distance back, as well as all relay splits, including 4x200s in lanes and real 4 x 1 mile splits.
- A throws-only scoreboard will be brought in for NBNI and be located by the throwing cage with live standings and athlete displays.
- In addition to the backpack, NBNI boasts an unbeatable swag collection, including All-American roller bags, national champion earbuds, and so much more.
- Free customized medal engraving is available onsite to all medalists.
- An in-house DJ, photo booth, and digital tattoos are some of the additional features that will make NBNI an unforgettable experience.
- Multiple professional athletes from Team New Balance will be in attendance interacting with fans and competitors. Stay tuned for official athlete announcements!
