High School Regional Rankings Girls XC 2024 - 10/24Published by
Girls Regional Rankings - 10/24/24 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor As many schools begin to gear up for their state meets and beyond, the regional rankings didn't budge much. In California, Buchanan reasserted some dominance by winning at the Asics Clovis Invitational and Trabuco Hills ran impressively at the Orange County Championships, beating second-place J Serra Catholic, 32-80. Trabuco Hills is the team to watch at this weekend's 76th Mt. SAC Invitational presented by Nike, led by Millie Bayles and Holly Barker. In the Midwest, Lancaster of Ohio replaces Hilliard Davidson OH in the rankings after a strong performance by the Golden Gales at the OHSAA District meet. Bethlehem Central NY rolled to a dominant victory in the Eastern States Championship at the Manhattan Invitational and has become a podium candidate on the national stage in Portland. Bethlehem Central and Shenendehowa have stepped to the forefront as the top two teams in New York. In the Northeast, Union Catholic is the clear front-runner but the second automatic qualifying spot feels up for grabs. Wren Kucler of North Allegheny hasn't raced yet this season and her post-season availability is not certain, which could make it difficult for "Wexford" to make it back to NXN. Billerica MA jumped ahead of Oyster River NH in the Northeast by virtue of defeating the Bobcats at the MSTCA John Glennon Twilight XC Invitational. The Northwest is also murky. Boise won the Rose City Invitational with one of the best team performances in the region so far this year. The Boise area also has three other teams worth considering for the region's top five: Timberline, Capital and Rocky Mountain. Jesuit and Lincoln of Oregon are still in the thick of it as well. Piedmont OK is an overdue arrival into the top five of the South region and Creekside FL pulled up into the Southeast at No. 5 after its victory last weekend at the New World Fall Spectacular, led by Alyson and Sydney Johnson.
